THE REAL DEAL
Owner, Jason Moorhouse, participates on most of the moves. He loves the hard physical, mental and finessed challenges required on many relocations. He started moving at the age of 13 working for his uncles during the summer months. "My first move was trucking to DC to relocate a government official to a high-rise with a long-carry to the delivery. It was an 18-20 hr. day. We went to a military base the next morning and my legs were too sore to get out of bed inside the semi-truck. I became a bed-bugger that day." Bed-bugger is lingo used in the industry that identifies movers who specialize in doing relocations across the country. One year, he was part of the crew working for his uncle who won the top mover award out of the largest moving companies in the US. "I was a busy teenage kid at 13 and 14. While helping my uncles move part-time and playing travel baseball and hockey, I somehow also managed a paper route, caddied at Western Country Club, worked as a dishwasher/ food prep at our family's breakfast cafe and took private saxophone lessons from a renowned teacher who played in the Detroit Symphony. I had as much energy as the Sun. I would also play after-school sports of whatever until dark with friends who played on teams of football, basketball, soccer, bmx racing, etc. I truly was blessed with unlimited energy" The highlight of Jason's hockey career was playing against Team Russia in the annual Quebec, Drummondville tournament where the top 17-year-old teams from around the world would compete in. He was scouted and invited to try out for the Vancouver Canucks while playing in the tournament on Team Fraser Falcons under coach Wolanin who's brother Craig played in the NHL. After playing Jr. A for the Melvindale Blades and a multiple of Jr. B teams in Ontario, Canada including a world team out of Brampton, Ontario, his career ended shortly after while playing briefly for the U-M Dearborn and Wayne State University's hockey team from the NCAA clock expiring while playing College golf at Schoolcraft College. The knowledge, skill and experience Jason gained from those learning years has helped MOORHOUSE MOVERS become a real competitive advantage!
